Golf-A-Thon To Support Head and Neck Cancer Awareness
Fifty-two Head and Neck Cancer societies and forty-five countries have declared July 27 – August 2, 2015 to be International Head and Neck Cancer Week. Head and neck cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths and disability in many parts of the world. Head and neck cancers include mouth and throat cancer, thyroid, skin cancers of the head and neck and the new epidemic HPV-induced oropharynx cancers.
In support of International Head and Neck Cancer Week, The Dobleman Head and Neck Cancer Institute, will be raising awareness of these diseases by hosting a Golf-A-Thon the week of July 27 through August 2, 2015. All proceeds from this event will be used for community-based prevention and early detection by providing free head and neck cancer screenings and education, CEU course for healthcare providers, a Creighton University IPE program for dental and medical students and research.
Golfers will play as many holes as they can, at any golf course of their choice during the designated week. Golfers are responsible for getting the pledges from supporters, recording the completed holes and form, and collecting the pledged money from supporters. Proceeds can be mailed or dropped off in person at The Dobleman Head and Neck Cancer Institute, 7710 Mercy Road, Suite 328, Omaha, NE 68124.
Please consider golfing and/or support a golfer and make a pledge and supporting our cause. Forms are available on our website at http://drdobleman.com/the-dobleman-cancer-institute/.
The Dobleman Head and Neck Cancer Institute is a local Omaha based 501 (c) (3) organization, that has been helping people afflicted with these diseases in Omaha and its surrounding communities since 1992. To learn more, please visit http://drdobleman.com/the-dobleman-cancer-institute/ .
